CrossFit Moreland is the largest purpose built CrossFit facility in Melbourne with over 940 square metres located in the heart of Brunswick. We have a huge main training floor, multiple toilets and showers, change rooms, treatment rooms, mobility and warmup areas in addition to dedicated Olympic Weightlifting platforms. All this is complemented with the latest quality equipment to enable classes of any size, teams and individuals to work out. Founder and Owner
BENJAMIN LUSTIG
Ben is a highly experienced and educated coach having been one of the first ever CrossFit coaches in Australia, travelling to California in 2008 and coaching at two of the original CrossFit Affiliates before opening CrossFit Moreland. With his background and qualifications as a health professional, Ben works with beginner to elite athletes, Olympic weightlifters and CrossFitters treating acute and chronic pain, implementing injury prevention strategies and developing top performance in his clients.
Ben’s mission is to make CrossFit Moreland one of Melbourne’s premier boxes, generating a positive message to the wider community of the power of CrossFit and to change peoples lives.

Head Coach
THOMAS GOLDSWORTHY
Following repeated knee injuries, Thomas began to understand the importance of maintaining his body through strength and conditioning. Having been involved in competitive water skiing, he had a solid foundation when he found CrossFit in 2016. His introduction to CrossFit was none other than the classic benchmark workout “Fran”, which was all it took for him to become hooked.
Thomas believes strongly in CrossFit as a lifestyle, rather than merely as a collection of exercises to fuel a workout. CrossFit has changed the way he approaches life and confronts challenges. Most importantly, Thomas emphasizes a positive attitude to overcome whatever challenge may be impeding the path to success.

NATHAN DERRICK
Nathan discovered CrossFit in 2013, when his boxing coach put him through one of the CrossFit benchmark workouts “Fight Gone Bad”. He had been training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) for 5 years and thought he was pretty fit. CrossFit changed what he thought “fit” meant, showing him a new world where everyday people were doing extraordinary things.
Nathan threw in the gloves from MMA and has solely focused on CrossFit ever since. As a trainer Nathan brings personality and energy to his sessions as well as a keen eye and passion for movement, mobility and posture.

CATE HALLET
Cate’s CrossFit journey commenced in 2017 after discovering the world of Olympic weightlifting. The variety and demands of the program were unlike any challenge she’d encountered in her previous sporting involvements including hockey and basketball. Cate’s passion for CrossFit sprouted immediately upon entering her first CrossFit box and she’s never looked back.
CrossFit has gifted Cate the physical and mental strength to confidently tackle challenges that extend beyond the sport of fitness. She thoroughly enjoys motivating and supporting everyday people to push beyond their preconceived limits to reach their goals. Above all else, Cate cherishes the irreplaceable community at the box and is passionate about celebrating the achievements of all its members.

MARCUS DISIPIO
Marcus found CrossFit in 2013 by great coincidence searching through the internet as a way to supplement his long distance running and general strength, growing up he played all sports but intently filled his time with basketball and cross country running. While CrossFitting, Marcus has competed in various local competitions. He has a passion for weightlifting and enjoys improving his fitness in creative ways.
CrossFit gave Marcus a new level of understanding of what the human body is capable of doing. He strives to help others realise this as well as smash barriers of what they previously thought possible, ultimately helping others to be the best versions of themselves they can be.
Marcus believes in hard work, learning about and listening to your body and improving on anything you set you mind too!

TRACEY MCARDLE
Tracey has been involved with fitness activities most of her life. From cross country in school and continuing through long distance running, triathlons, cycling, swimming and gym in general. In 2007 she was introduced to CrossFit and was hooked. Tracey is mother to two daughters and knows first hand training through pregnancy as she continued to train both before and after the births of both her girls.
Tracey has competed in several local competitions and in the last three CrossFit opens has attained of top 150 in Australia. As her journey progressed, Tracey decided to attain her Level 1 CrossFit Coach certification. She was also our first ever member at CrossFit Moreland!

CLAIRE COATES
CrossFit Moreland was the very first box Claire set foot in at the start of 2014, looking for some extra fitness for her upcoming soccer season. Within a week she was signed up for a membership and had hung up her soccer boots.
Claire loves how CrossFit has given her an enormous amount of physical and mental strength, and most importantly connected her to a wonderful community of likeminded people.
Recently through CrossFit, she has begun competing in Olympic Lifting, placing 2nd at the Australian Masters Championships and qualifying for the World Masters Championships and also Qualifying for the Australian Nationals open age.
She placed 88th in the Pacific Region in the 2018 CrossFit Open, 11th in the 35-39 age category for the Pacific Region and 91st Worldwide. No small feat. With a strong drive to help those around her, Claire is an awesome coach to have at the box.

AMELIA THOMSETT
Amelia brings to Moreland one of the most experienced female CrossFit Coaches. From competing at Regionals in both an individual and in teams to her 3rd place in the Olympic weightlifting at the World Masters Games, Amelia has over 12 years of fitness. Amelia started CrossFit in 2009 when she was working at Fitness First and it wasn’t too long till she was hooked. Since Amelia was already in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, becoming a CrossFit Coach was a natural progression and she hasn’t looked back. Amelia loves how being a CrossFit Coach has expanded her coaching knowledge to disciplines like Olympic lifting and gymnastics, stuff that she would of never gotten into. Now Olympic lifting is her passion.
As a coach her favourite thing to do is help people achieve things that they never thought they can do. Watching someone get their first pull up, first double under, first muscle up or even first push up is honestly the most exciting and rewarding thing to watch.

CHELSEA ROUGE-SERRET
Chelsea has had sport running through her veins her whole life, growing up at the local Athletics track and being involved in everything possible from school Volleyball and Hockey teams, to social Touch Rugby competitions. She found her love for Gymnastics while completing her teaching degree, so much so that she ended up coaching the sport for a number of years in clubs and schools. Chelsea discovered CrossFit in 2013 after reaching her limit at the local gym and returning from a yearlong stint in the Whitsundays as a Circus performer – and it’s fair to say she’s been hooked ever since. Chelsea competed in a team at the 2017 Pacific Regional and has been involved in a number of local competitions gaining invaluable experience as a competitor.
Chelsea loves the fact that CrossFit is so diverse and is always evolving, meaning that there is constant challenge, learning and fun to be had. Her favourite thing about coaching is seeing people push themselves into achieving things that they never thought was possible, and the personal growth that comes from that. Seeing how CrossFit translates into other areas of people’s lives and contributes to their overall wellbeing is really something special.

GEORGIA NANKIVEL
Georgia attended an innovative high-performance sport and education college growing up, trialing every sport under the sun, finally specialising in beach volleyball. She was exposed to the world of strength and conditioning and good work ethic from a young age! Georgia worked as a part time volleyball coach during school, before taking a gap year and volunteering in India which undoubtedly sparked her passion for natural health and helping others.
Georgia proceeded to train as a personal trainer, and alongside seeing her personal training clients was completing a 4 year qualification at the London College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy. Georgia loves helping people achieve their fitness, nutrition and wellbeing goals in synergy.
Georgia’s loves using the fundamental movements of CrossFit for both her clients and her own fitness. Beyond that her favourite part of CrossFit is seeing the amazing community CrossFit can create, and the desire to always keep reaching for the next goal.

OUR LOCATION
CrossFit Moreland is located in central Brunswick in Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs. There is lots of onsite and on street parking available, we have secure bike racks if you want to ride and we are right next to Brunswick Train Station (Upfield line) and a 5 minute walk from the 19 tram on Sydney Road (get off at Albert St/Sydney Rd stop).
